Throwback Thursday: Tom Izzo

Northern Michigan University Hall of Famer Tom Izzo played men's basketball for the Wildcats from 1973-1977 and was an All-American. Izzo was inducted into the NMU Hall of Fame in 1990.

Currently Izzo is the longest tenured head men's basketball coach in the Big Ten having been the head coach of the Michigan State Spartans since 1995 amassing a 468-187 overall record and earning four National Coach of the Year awards.

The Spartans won the 2000 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship and have appeared in the Division I NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament 17 times under Izzo's direction.
