Week Ahead: Wildcat Lacrosse at Home, Hockey and Women's Basketball Begin Playoffs

MARQUETTE, Mich. — Only three Northern Michigan teams are in action this week, with two set to begin postseason play.

The women's basketball team and the hockey team are both on the road for the playoffs. The women's basketball team will take on Saginaw Valley State in the GLIAC quarterfinals while the hockey team will face Bemidji State in a best-of-three WCHA quarterfinal series.

The lacrosse team will host Aquinas on Saturday in the Superior Dome. Tickets can be purchased by calling the ticket office at 906-227-1032 or by visiting Tickets.NMU.edu. They can also be purchased the day of in the Superior Dome's main entrance.

Quick Hits

The lacrosse team routed Northland, 18-1, to win its first game in program history on Feb. 18. The Wildcats scored 18 unanswered goals, 10 in the first half and eight in the second, to down the Lumberjills, who are also in their first season of competition. Shelby Klotz (5g), Blair Osgood (4g-1a) and Graison Ringlever (4g-1a) had five-point outings during the inaugural game.
