Jason Laxo is in his fourth year as a certified/licensed athletic trainer at Northern Michigan University. He is the primary athletic trainer for football and is the head athletic trainer.
Laxo is nationally certified as an athletic trainer through the National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA) and is a Michigan licensed athletic trainer. Laxo is certified in First Aid, CPR/AED through the American Red Cross. He is a certified ImPACT Trained Athletic Trainer and Graston Technique © provider. Laxo is also a clinical coordinator for the athletic training education program.
Prior to accepting his position at Northern Michigan University Laxo worked at Body Mechanix Physical Therapy of Marquette and Escanaba from 2007-2009, Northwood Rehabilitation of Escanaba from 2009-2011 and Active Physical Therapy of Marquette in 2011.
Laxo is an Upper Peninsula native and is a 2006 graduate of Northern Michigan’s Undergraduate Athletic Training program and also earned his Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from Northern Michigan in 2008. From 2006-2008 Laxo was a graduate assistant at Northern Michigan where he spent a semester working with Football and Soccer and the rest of his time teaching accredited athletic training program courses.
Laxo and his wife Jessica reside in Marquette with their daughter Nora.
