MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University Football team will host #17 Grand Valley State University Saturday afternoon in the Superior Dome.

| LAST WEEK
The Wildcats recovered four fumbles in Saturday's Matchup with Michigan Technological University for the Miner's Cup. NMU scored 13 points in the second quarter which was the most points scored in a quarter by either team. However, Tech was able to take a 24-20 lead and held on for victory
| LEADING THE COUNTRY
NMU is currently tied for first in the country for fumble recoveries. As a team, NMU has recovered 11 fumbles this season. Sophomore Anthony Ladd (Columbus, Ohio) and redshirt freshman Antonio Howard Jr. (Chicago, Ill.) both have recovered two fumbles to lead the team. Junior Brady Hanson (Kewaskum, Wis.) is fourth nationally and leads the GLIAC with three forced fumbles. Sophomore Jacob Dudeck (Manhattan, Ill.) has forced two fumbles.
| PROTECT THE BALL
The Wildcats are ranked fifth nationally in turnover margin. The NMU defense has forced a total of 15 turnovers this season while the offense has committed just six turnovers. That margin also leads the GLIAC.
| GETTING RANKED
Several players rank high in the GLIAC statistical rankings. Sophomore quarterback Ryan Johnson (De Pere, Wis.) has through seven touchdowns to rank second. He threw for two touchdowns Saturday at Michigan Tech. Hanson is also second in the league with 5.0 solo tackles per game and is averaging 7.7 total tackles per game. Sophomore Isaac Darkangelo (Brighton, Mich.) is second in tackles per game as he averages 10.3 tackles an outing, placing him 23rd nationally.
| OTHER ACTIVITIES
Veterans from the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Vets will attend the game as supports of NMU Football. On Sunday, the team with then join the Veterans to watch NFL Football together. The team will also be partnering with Marquette Ending Hunger by holding their annual Tackling Hunger Food Drive. All fans are encouraged to bring donations for the NMU Food Pantry.
Saturday's game is also Band Day, where 14 local high schools join the NMU band. Each band will then perform after the game.
| NMU VERSUS GVSU
The Wildcats are 17-23-1 all-time against the national powerhouse Lakers. Grand Valley State is 5-1 on the season, with their lone loss coming on a completed hail mary pass against Ashland University.
