Men's Basketball Reveals 2018-19 Season Schedule

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan University has revealed their 2018-19 Men's Basketball season schedule and sees the Wildcats hosting the season tip-off Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference vs. Great Lakes Valley Conference Challenge and 12 total home games.

The season begins with NMU hosting McKendree College on November 10 and Lewis University on November 11 for the GLIAC vs. GLVC Challenge. Two days later, the team will play host to University of Minnesota-Duluth on November 13.

The next week, the Wildcats head to Hillsdale College for the Hillsdale Tournament November 20 and 21. On Tuesday, NMU faces Ohio Dominican University.  They follow it Wednesday with the host Chargers.

The GLIAC action starts November 29 as NMU visits Northwood University.  The GLIAC home opener takes place December 6 with Purdue University Northwest and new GLIAC member University of Wisconsin-Parkside December 8.

To finish the 2018 calendar year, the Wildcats travel to Bellarmine University for the Bellarmine Tournament.

The team returns in 2018 and will travel to Wayne State University and Ashland University before returning to the Berry Events Center for five-straight home games.  January 10 starts the home action with a contest against Lake Superior State University and continues with the defending GLIAC and NCAA DII National Champions Ferris State University January 12.

The following week, NMU hosts Davenport University and Grand Valley State University before hosting rival Michigan Technological University Saturday, January 26.

A quick road trip is followed by the team's final home weekend of the regular season.  NMU will play host for SVSU on February 7, and Northwood University on February 9.

The 2018-19 regular season concludes February 28 with NMU visiting Michigan Tech.

The Wildcats are coming off their best season in a decade and made a return to the GLIAC Tournament last year.  With the return of two first team All-GLIAC performers and a majority of last year's team, NMU hopes to fuse their experience with a talented incoming class to host a GLIAC Tournament game and compete for the GLIAC crown.
