BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University Men's Golf team competed in the GLIAC North Championships/Bulldog Invitational this weekend and finished in sixth place out of ten teams.
The Wildcats placed two golfers among the top 15. Senior Owen Beyer (DeWitt, Mich./DeWitt) finished with a final score of 148 to tie for 12th, shooting 75 on his first round and followed it with a 73 for his second round.
Senior Austin Elsner (New London, Wis.) finished tied for 15th by shooting 150 total. He completed his first round with a 74 then posted a 76 the next round.
Tied for 29th was sophomore Kyle Pouliot (Gladstone, Mich./Gladstone Area) who put rounds of 79 and 75 together to finish with a final score of 154.
Senior Logan Haight (Ostego, Mich.) combined rounds of 77 and 80 together to finish at 157 and tied for 35th place.
Rounding out the NMU scorers was redshirt freshman Carter Mason (Negaunee, Mich.) who's final score of 166 put him in a tie for 45th place. Mason notched rounds of 81 and 85.
The men's team will return to the links Monday, September 24 to compete in the Findlay Invitational in Findlay, Ohio.
