Men's Golf Competes in Greyhound Invitational

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – The Northern Michigan University Men's Golf team competed in the Greyhound Invitational, a three-day event played at the Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana.

Leading the Wildcats was senior Austin Elsner (New London, Wis.), who's final score of 217 came after rounds of 74, 72 and 71 to put him in a tie for 14th place.

Tied at 51st place was senior Owen Beyer (Dewitt, Mich.) and junior Chris Black (Lisburn, Northern Ireland). Beyer posted rounds of 78, 75 and 73 while Black scored 75, 75 and 76 to give both a final score of 226. 

Junior Kurtis Fontinha (Penticton, B.C) notched a first score of 83 followed by a 77 and 79 for 93rd at 239. Senior Logan Haight (Ostego, Mich.) was right behind at 94th as his total score of 244 came after rounds of 79, 84 and 81.

NMU defeated Saginaw Valley State University in the 18-team three-day event. The team returns to action April 19-April 21 for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships.
