    MARQUETTE, Mich.-Northern Michigan University Men's Ice Hockey (15-10-3, 13-5-2-2 WCHA) retained the Cappo Cup with a 3-2 victory over Lake Superior State University (6-18-4, 4-13-3-0 WCHA) Saturday evening in the berry Events Center. The Cappo Cup is given annually to the winner of the season series between the two programs.

It is the Wildcats ninth victory in the Berry Events Center this season and fifth-consecutive.

Klimek was named Defensive Player of the Week twice in the past four weeks.

    MARQUETTE, Mich.—Northern Michigan University Men's Ice Hockey (11-9-2, 9-5-2-2 WCHA) will take a break from Western Collegiate Hockey Association action for the final time this season to compete in the inaugural Ice Vegas Invitational in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Wildcats will compete in the second semifinal contest Friday at T-Mobile Arena against Arizona State University (4-12-4, Independent) at 11:30 p.m. (EDT). The first semifinal matchup will feature Michigan Technological University (10-7-5, 7-6-5-2 WCHA) against Boston College (10-7-2, 10-3-0 HEA).

Despite the loss, the Wildcats remain in sole possession of second place in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Standings, five points behind the Mavericks.

It was the first tie of the season for NMU who jumped into a tie for third in the conference standings with the extra point.
