BUFFALO, NEW YORK-- Senior Troy Loggins (Huntington Beach, Calif.) was listed among the top 25 players in the country as he was named an CCM/AHCA Hockey All-American as he was named All-American Second Team West as chosen by the American Hockey Coaches Association.
Loggins finished his final season with the Wildcats with 23 goals, 17 assists, for a total of 40 points. His 23 goals placed him in a tie for second in the NCAA. Additionally, he finished the year tied for first nationally with 10 power play goals and three shorthanded goals. He also lead the country with 155 shots on goal. He recorded his first career hat trick in a victory at rival Michigan Technological University.
Loggins was a two-time Western Collegiate Hockey Association Forward of the Week. He won numerous postseason awards as he was named the WCHA Player of the Year, WCHA Forward of the year, and earned All-WCHA First Team honors. Loggins finishes his career with a total of 136 games, 56 goals, 50 assists, and 106 points. He is currently playing for the Grand Rapids Griffins, making his professional debut April 3 and scored his first goal two days later, April 5.
The senior is the only member of the WCHA to be named as an All-American for the 2018-19 season. He is the 17th NMU hockey player to earn All- American recognition and is the 22nd All-American honor for NMU this year.
