    BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Hailing from the eighth-best scoring offense in the nation, two Wildcat forwards have earned Player of the Week honors as announced by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Monday afternoon (Nov. 11). Sophomore Vincent de Mey was named Forward of the Week, joined by Andre Ghantous who earned rookie honors.

  • De Mey Earns WCHA Player of the Month Honors

    BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The recognitions keep coming for sophomore forward Vincent de Mey following his hot start to the season. After posting at least one point in each of the team’s first six games (6-2-8), de Mey has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s Forward of the Month as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon. De Mey was also named Player of the Week twice in October.
  • #20/RV Wildcats Sit Atop WCHA Standings Following 4-2 Win

    MARQUETTE, Mich. - No. 20/RV Northern Michigan hockey team (6-1-1, 4-0-0-0 WCHA) completed the sweep of Alabama Huntsville (0-8-0, 0-4-0-0 WCHA) Saturday night with a 4-2 victory, to claim sole possession of first-place in the WCHA standings. In front of nearly 3,000 fans at the Berry Events Center (2,953), the Wildcats continued their winning ways, netting four goals, including a power play tally while Nolan Kent stopped 25 shots for his third win of the season.

    MARQUETTE, Mich. - The 20th-ranked Northern Michgan Wildcats (5-1-1, 3-0-0-0 WCHA) fought back Friday night to top the Alabama Huntsville Chargers (0-7-0, 0-3-0-0 WCHA), 5-3 in front of nearly 2,500 fans at the Berry Events Center.

    BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Northern Michigan Wildcats (4-1-1, 2-0-0-0 WCHA) swept the Ferris State Bulldogs (2-3-0, 0-2-0-0 WCHA) Saturday evening at Ewigleben Arena behind a hat trick performance from sophomore forward Griffin Loughran and a career-high outing for Nolan Kent who stopped 39 shots faced in the win.
  • Wildcats Open WCHA Play With Win At Ferris State

    BIG RAPIDS, Mich. -  The Northern Michigan University Wildcats (3-1-1, 1-0-0-0 WCHA) opened conference play with a win over the Bulldogs of Ferris State (2-2-0, 0-1-0-0 WCHA) Friday evening in Big Rapids, Michigan. Four different Wildcats found the back of the net in the 4-3 victory, including three who netted the first of the season. Freshman forward Andre Ghantous opened the scoring for the Wildcats with a powerplay goal in the second and it was all Wildcats from there.
