MARQUETTE, Mich.—Northern Michigan University Men's Soccer (2-3-1, 0-2 GLAIC) will take to the road for a pair of conference contests with Purdue University-Northwest (2-2-1, 0-1 GLIAC) travels to Marquette on Friday at 4:30 p.m., while NMU will take on Davenport University (4-2, 1-1 GLIAC) Sunday at 3 p.m.

Wildcats split home weekend: NMU was shut out in a pair of games to open the conference season. No. 16 Saginaw Valley State University scored two goals early to lead most of the way before defeating NMU, 3-0, Friday evening. On Sunday, Northwood University scored a pair of goals less than a minute apart in the 26th and 27th minutes and hung on to that advantage the rest of the way for a victory.
Offensive leaders: Junior forward Sam Popp (Northville, Michigan) leads the Wildcats with five points with a pair of goals and an assist in 2017. Freshman forward Birkir Baldursson (Kopavogur, Iceland) is tied with Popp for the team lead in goals.
Harenda lends a helping hand: Junior forward Nic Harenda (Waukesha, Wisconsin) leads the Wildcats in assists with three on the season. Sophomore midfielder Sveinn Karlsson (Akureyri, Iceland) lead the team in assists a season ago with five.
Torelli impresses between the posts: Sophomore goalkeeper Filippo Torelli (Parma, Italy) has played in all 570 minutes in goal for the Wildcats over the first three weeks of the season earning a 2-3-1 record in the process. Torelli's goals against average sits at 1.58 while facing 23 shots on goal over the season, making 13 saves.
Poggi enters his second year: NMU Head Coach David Poggi is in his second season as the head coach of the Wildcats, producing a record of 7-13-3 overall.
NMU versus Purdue-Northwest: It will be the first contests between the Wildcats and the Pride with 2017 marking PNW's first season in the GLIAC and NCAA Division II. The Pride are currently 2-2-1 this year splitting their games over the weekend.
NMU versus Davenport: It will be the first matchup between NMU and DU as the Panthers are entering their first season in the GLIAC and NCAA Division II. The Panthers are currently 4-2 after splitting a pair of contests over the weekend.
