MARQUETTE, Mich.—Northern Michigan University Men's Soccer Head Coach David Poggi announced the signing of midfielder Isaac Ward to the 1029 roster. Ward is the second signee of the early signing period for a team set to return nearly their entire roster for next year.
"Isaac is a great addition to our program," Poggi said of the skill ward bring to the team. "He likes to attack from different areas of the pitch and has the technical ability to help us manage the ball and create scoring chances."
Ward competed for Pleasant Valley High School (Pleasant Valley, Iowa) where he was twice named first team all-conference and guided the team to a 2018 conference title. At the club level, Ward competed for a number of teams including, CRSA, BSA, ISC, and Sporting Iowa. Combined, Ward and his clubs were state finalists in Iowa on four occasions.
Looking ahead to 2019, Ward will join a squad coming off their best season in three years since the program began play in 2016. NMU is set to return more than 63% of their point production and 59% of their goal scoring from the 2018 campaign.
