    MARQUETTE, Mich. -- The Northern Michigan University Nordic skiing team has qualified two full teams of skiers to compete at the NCAA Skiing Championships March 11 and 13 in Lake Placid, N.Y. at Mt. Van Hoevenberg. The women’s five-kilometer and men’s 10-kilometer freestyle cross-country races will be conducted March 11 with the women’s 15-kilometer and men’s 20-kilometer classical races March 13.

    DENVER — A total of 276 student-athletes from 29 institutions of higher education were named to the 2015 National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team, announced and awarded by the United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association. To make the team, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.5 grade point average in the classroom and have competed in one of three NCAA Regional competitions.

    MARQUETTE, Mich. -- Northern Michigan University Nordic skiing coach Sten Fjeldheim has been named the Central Collegiate Ski Association Men's Coach of the Year announced the organization Thursday. St. Scholastica's Chad Salmela was named the Women's coach of the Year. The award is voted on by all the CCSA coaches.

    ALMATY, Kazakhstan – Northern Michigan University men’s skier Kyle Bratrud finished in 19th place at the U23 FIS World Ski Championships in the 15K Freestyle. Bratrud finished the 15K in a time of 37:44.7, which was 1:49.4 behind top finisher Florian Notz, representing Germany. Bratrud was the third finisher for team USA.
