2017-18: Finished as runner-up in the 10K classic race at the CCSA Championships and eighth in the 20K freestyle race. Competed at the U.S. Cross Country Skiing Championships where he finished 35th in the 30K classic race and 43rd in the classic sprints. At the MTU CCSA races, Hipp finished fifth in the 10K classic race and eighth in the 20K freestyle race. Named second-team All-CCSA at the conclusion of the season.

2016-17: Finished seventh in the 20K freesyle mass start at Birkie Trailhead. Took 10th and 8th place in 10K classic and 20K freestyle mass start respectively at CCSA Distance Championships.

2015-16: Finished third in the freestyle sprint's junior division at the U.S. Skiing Championship, clocking in at 3:28.37. Took seventh in the 10K freestyle (27:00.0) and 10th in the 20K classic (59:53.2) at the CCSA Invitational. Placed 10th in the 15K mass start (38:22.8) at the CCSA Championship. Represented the U.S. at the World Junior Championship Feb. 18-29 in Rasnov, Romania. Named team's Newcomer of the Year.

Before NMU: Won an individual state championship while at Forest Lake Senior High. Also earned all-state honors twice and all-conference accolades four times. Helped team win two state championships, three conference titles and four section crowns. Also was a three time medalist at the section championships. Ran cross country as well, earning five letters.

Also competed for the Midwest Junior National Team and Nordica Verses Ski Club. Was a three-time All-American and earned a national victory in a relay at the 2015 Junior Nationals.
