MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University Swim & Dive team opens their competitive season this weekend by taking on Findlay University in the PEIF Pool Friday at 5 p.m. and again Saturday at 10 a.m.

Friday and Saturday's meet will be available on Meet Mobile. A meet program will also become available for both days HERE.
| LAST TIME OUT
This will be the first competitive meet for the Wildcats this season. The team previously hosted their annual Green and Gold Meet on September 21 during Homecoming weekend.
| TOP RETURNERS
The Wildcats return a strong group of returners this season. On the women's side senior Rachel Helm (Newcastle, England) returns after earning her third GLIAC postseason award last year, being named the GLIAC Female Swimmer of the Year for the second straight season. Senior Madelyn Irelan (Owosso, Mich.), junior Margaret Vaitkus (Munster, Ind.) and junior Lena Soulas (London, England) each earned Honorary All-American honors last year.
On the men's side, senior Lajos Budai (Kecskemet, Hungary) comes back after winning the GLIAC's 100 and 200-yard freestyle events. Along with Budai, senior Jonas Reinhold (Nienhagen, Germany), and sophomore Jon Busse (Stillwater, Minn.) all earned All-American honors last season.
| DIVING IN
The women's team returns two divers who earned Honorary All-American status last year at the NCAA Championships. Sophomore Mary Grossman (Goshen, Ind.) earned the distinction on both the 1 and 3 meter board. Senior Jamie Kimble (Prior Lake, Minn.) earned the status on the 3 meter.
| LAST YEARS MEET
Last season, NMU swept both meets at Findlay. The Wildcats defeated the Oilers in Friday's meet in a co-ed combined meet, winning 3,074.5-2,513.5. On Saturday, the meet featured a traditional men's and women's meet with the men's team winning 217-67. The women defeated Findlay 179.50-120.50.
