Women's Basketball Signs One During NCAA Early Signing

MARQUETTE, Mich.  --  The Northern Michigan University Women's Basketball team has signed Emily Mueller from Saint Mary's Spring High School in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, to a National Letter of Intent during the NCAA early signing period.  

"We are excited to have Emily join us next year," said head coach Troy Mattson. "Emily is very athletic and has excellent basketball skills for a post player.  She will add strong depth to our front line."

As a junior, Mueller was named the Flyway Conference First Team All-Conference Team and was selected to the All-Area Team.  She also earned both honors her sophomore season as well. 

The 6'2 post player averaged 11.7 points with 7.5 rebounds and a block per game last season.  She also added 2.5 assists and 1.8 steals a game.  A team captain since her sophomore season, Mueller enters her senior year rated among the top 50 seniors in Wisconsin for the 2017-18 season. 

Mueller will join a Wildcat team that is expected to compete at the top of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this season and features a roster of no seniors.
