MARQUETTE, Mich. -- The Northern Michigan University Women's Basketball Team heads to Louisville, Kentucky to take on Bellarmine University and University of Southern Indiana in the Bellarmine Thanksgiving Classic.
The action begins Saturday at 3 p.m. against Bellarmine. They then return to take on Southern Indiana Sunday at 1 pm. Both games can be followed with video and live stats. Radio for each game is also available.

Youngstrom leads the way: Junior Darby Youngstrom (Cook, Minn./North Woods) paces the Wildcat offense with 14.8 points per game and is second on the team with 5.6 rebounds per game. She is also shooting 49 percent from the field, 50 percent from the three-point line, and is a perfect 13-13 from the free throw line.
Getting more boards: NMU is outrebounding their opponents 33.0-27.6 rebounds per game. Sophomore Jessica Schultz (Mineral Point, Wis.) has grabbed 6.2 rebound a game, and has 16 offensive rebounds this year. As a team, the Wildcats have snagged 52 offensive rebounds while allowing just 31.
Impact freshman: Freshman Elizabeth Lutz (Marshall, Wis.) and Amber Huebner (Marquette, Mich.) are giving the Wildcats 40 minutes a game of point guard play. The duo has combined for 5.8 points a game and two assists a game. The pair have also added seven steals this season, while committing just over two turnovers a game. Lexi Smith (St. Germain, Wis./Northland Pines) averaged 9.3 points per game over the weekend and is beginning to become a larger part of the offense.
Last weekend: The Wildcats took on Concordia University, St. Paul, University of Minnesota Crookston and Minnesota State University Moorhead and came away with two victories. NMU took a 56-49 victory at Concordia, St. Paul, led by Erin Honkala (Howell, Mich.) and her 16 points and 11 rebounds. They then claimed a 73-55 victory at Crookston. In their final game, their third in four days, the Wildcats ran out of steam, falling to Moorhead 74-63.
NMU versus Bellarmine: NMU is 1-2 all-time against Bellarmine. Their last matchup came in the 2015-16 season in the Bellarmine Classic with the host taking a 63-52 victory. The Knights enter at 3-0 this season and have reached 90 points in their past two games, allowing just 58 points defensively.
NMU versus Southern Indiana: The Eagles are ranked 17th as they enter the weekend and enter at 4-0. USI is beating their opponents by an average of 29 points, with their closest game being a 77-54 victory over Wayne State University. The Wildcats are 2-4 overall against USI, and have split their last two meetings. Last season, NMU took a 59-56 victory.
