  LAST TIME OUT

The Wildcats hit the road last week for the first time of 2020 and came home after splitting their two games. On Thursday they visited Purdue University Northwest and held the Pride to just 34 points, the second time this season NMU held a team under 35 points.

The team then visited GLIAC North Division leader, University of Wisconsin Parkside, on Saturday. NMU jumped out to a 15-0 lead to start the game, but the Rangers continued to fight back, eventually hitting a three at the buzzer to win 58-55.

  ALMOST 1,000

Senior Jessica Schultz (Mineral Point, Wis.) had a big weekend as she set new season and career marks in both games. Against Purdue Northwest, she scored a season high 20 points and tied her career high with nine made baskets. She also tallied a season high nine rebounds. At Parkside, she was even more dominant, posting new career marks with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Schultz also added three blocks and two steals to her totals.

She enters Thursday's game with 998 career points and will become the 27th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points with her first basket of the game.

  ANOTHER DOUBLE DOUBLE

Senior Erin Honkala (Howell, Mich.) tallied her second double-double of the season Thursday by recording 14 points and 11 rebounds. The 11 rebounds tied her season high as well. She followed her performance with eight points and six rebounds at Parkside. Honkala has posted 627 rebounds in her career and is the eighth player in program history to reach 600 rebounds in a career. She is close to becoming just the seventh player to reach 650 career rebounds.

  HITTING BIG SHOTS

Junior Elizabeth Lutz (Marshall, Wis.) continues to hit big shots this season. In the team's last home game, a 58-56 victory over Wayne State University, Lutz hit the game-winning three pointer with 10 seconds left. This past Saturday at Parkside, she tied the game at 55-55 with 21 seconds left.

  NMU VERSUS FERRIS STATE

NMU defeated Ferris State in last year's GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals, 65-51, and now has a 52-29 edge in the all-time series after winning the past four matchups. FSU is 10-5 on the season and have won their past three games.

  NMU VERSUS LAKE STATE

The Wildcats have won the past 11 games over the Lakers and now lead the series 58-36. Lake Superior State has lost their last three games to fall to 6-8 on the season and 2-5 in the league. The Lakers have averaged just 40.6 points per game in their past three outings. LSSU heads to Michigan Technological University Thursday.
