BAY CITY, Mich. — For the second straight week, Northern Michigan University women's basketball senior Jessica schultz has been named Women's North Player of the Week by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Association Monday afternoon.
Schultz, tallying 59 points, 16 rebounds and six blocks last weekend was a crucial part of the women's successful sweep over Parkside and Purdue Northwest.
After 23 points in the Wildcats' 60-55 nail-biting win over the Rangers, she followed up with a career high night Saturday, scoring 36 points as the women defeated the Pride, 57-53. Sinking 17 of 22 shots, it was also a season high shooting percentage when attempting at least five shots.
On top of her stellar offensive performance, she also contributed 16 rebounds, eight each night, as well as six blocked shots to help lead her Wildcats to consecutive victories and improve their home record to 8-2 this year.
She has now posted at least 20 points in each of her last four games and boasts 1,161 career points for 20th in program history.
