NMU Captures 4th at SVSU Invitational


BAY CITY, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University women's golf team took fourth place at the Saginaw Valley State University Fall Invitational this past weekend.

Junior Karissa Guthrie (Pierre, S.D./T.F. Riggs) was the top finisher for the Wildcats with a fourth place finish and a final score of 147 (75-72). Senior Avery Rochester (Marquette, Mich./Columbia College) also finished in the top five, tying for fifth place with a total of 148 (73-75).

Senior Haley Hewer (Penticton, B.C./Penticton Secondary) also finished in the top half, tying for 14th (81-74=155).

Junior Lillian Torres (Pleasant Prairie, Wisc./Tremper) (86-84=170) and junior Alyce Krumm (Plymouth, Mich./Canton) (86-86=172) rounded out the roster for the Wildcats this weekend. The team finished with a total score of 620.

The women's golf team will next be at the Grand Valley State Invitational Friday and Saturday in Allendale, Mich. to compete at the Meadows Golf Course for the Grand Valley State Invitational.
