BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University Women's Golf team completed the second day of the NCAA East Super Regional and are now in fourth place among the 12-team field with a team score of 623.
Junior Haley Hewer (Penticton, B.C./Penticton Secondary School) paces the team and is tied for tenth overall. She shot a one under par score of 71 first round and followed it with a 79 on day two.
Sophomore Caro Els (Swakopmund, Namibia/Pro-Ed Academy) improved on her first round of an 80 and moved into a tie for 21st place with a 76 for her second round.
Junior Karissa Guthrie (Pierre, S.D./T.F.Riggs) posted a round of 75 on the opening day and notched a score of 82 on the second round.
Senior Avery Rochester (Marquette, Mich.) also shot a 75 on day one but her second round resulted in a score of 85.
Junior Alyce Krumm (Plymouth, Mich./Canton) shot a first round score of 85 and posted a round of 95 on day two.
The Wildcats will return for the third and final day Wednesday morning looking to jump back into the third spot as the top three teams will advance to the NCAA Championships.
