Women's Golf Competes at the UIndy Invite

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan University Women's Golf started the season at the University of Indianapolis Invitational and finished 11th of 15 teams.

Leading the Wildcats was junior Caro Els (Swakopmunc, Namibia/Pro-Ed Academy), who finished with a final score of 222.  Finishing 14th overall, she posted scores of 75, 78 and 69 over three rounds.

Senior Karissa Guthrie (Pierre, S.D./T.F. Riggs) tied fo 25th and notched rounds of 74, 74 and 78 for a final score of 226.

Senior Haley Hewer (Penticton, B.C./Penticton Secondary) finished 52nd with a score of 234, with rounds of 79, 74 and 81.

Abbie Boozer (Brea, Calif.), 73rd overall, had rounds of 84, 79 and 87 to finish with a score of 250.

Finishing 80th was senior Baylee Dunmire (Palmdale, Calif./Highland) with a score of 260 and tallied rounds of 87, 81 and 92.

The team returns to action this weekend at the Saginaw Valley State University Invitational.
