Women's Golf Opens Spring Season Second at Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan University Women's Golf opened the spring season by taking second at the Saddlebrooke Spring Kickoff in Tampa, Florida. The Wildcats placed four in the top ten.

Senior Haley Hewer (Penticton, B.C.) finished third overall, posting scores of 82, 81 and 77 to finish with a score of 240. Right behind in fourth place was junior Caro Els (Swakopmund, Namibia), who notched a score of 84, 77 and 87 for a total of 248.

Senior Karissa Guthrie (Pierre, S.D.) took sixth with a final score of 251, scoring rounds of 82, 90 and 79 while freshman Abigail Boozer (Brea, Calif.) came in eighth with rounds of 88, 85 and 81 to finish the event at 254.

Senior Baylee Dunmire (Palmdale, Calif.) rounded out the team with rounds of 89, 86 and 87 to finish with a final tally of 262.

The Wildcats finished the event second out of four teams.

NMU returns to action this weekend by playing the Kearny Hills Golf Course in Lexington, Kentucky to play in the Saginaw Valley State University Invitational.
