BEFORE NMU: Earned eight combined letters competing for the cross country and track & field teams at Williamston High School where she was a captain for both teams during her final two seasons. Jones was all-state in multiple track & field events and also holds the school record in the 4x400-meter relay and the 800-meter run. As a team, Williamston earned the regional crown in 2015 and were league champions all four year.
