Marquette, Mich. -- For the second straight year, senior Shayla Huebner (Marquette, Mich.) was named to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District 4 Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team.
Huebner is a Sports Science major and boasts a GPA of 3.92 and senior achieved success in both the indoor and outdoor season. During the indoor season, Huebner finished sixth place in the 800 Meter Run, timing in at 2:09.73 in the finals. She then followed it in the outdoor season with a seventh place finish in the finals after setting a school record of 2:08.75 in the preliminary race. She was named an All-American after both races as well.
The senior now holds school records for both the indoor and outdoor 800 meter run. After the indoor season, she was named a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Commissioner Award winning for the second time of her career.
District 4 consists of student-athletes from the GLIAC, Great Lakes Valley Conference and Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Huebner has the second-best GPA of all honorees in the district and is now eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-American Team. Last season, Huebner was named to the Third Team Academic All-America.
