Gentz’s Homestead Golf Course

No golf carts will be available, please plan accordingly. 

No locker room or public buildings available at course. Showers available at the NMU PEIF (Physical Education Instructional Facility)

Results

Results will be live on  www.superiortiming.com and posted near finish line. Complete sets of results will be distributed to each coach at the conclusion of the meet. Results will also be posted on the Northern Michigan University and GLIAC athletic websites along with www.superiortiming.com.

Athletic Training

A certified athletic trainer will be on site to provide ice, water and any emergency medical attention that may be needed. Please bring your own athletic tape. 

The athletic training tent will be open one (1) hour prior to races and one (1) hour prior to course preview.  If you have any special requests, please contact us and we will try to accommodate you. There will be ice, water, cups and Gatorade in the finish area.

Restrooms

Porta Johns will be located at the course for athlete and spectator use. 

Inclement Weather

In the case of inclement weather teams will return to their vans/buses. Meet officials, games committee and host school will determine the appropriate course of action. In the case of frost, the meet will be delayed until the frost is gone from the course.

Parking

Parking for all teams and spectators will be at Gentz’s Homestead Golf Course.

Apparel

2017 GLIAC Cross Country gear will be sold onsite.

Directions

From East:

  • Traveling west towards Marquette on M-28 you will come to the intersection of M-28/US41.
  • Turn left at the light onto US41
  • Travel south approximately 2 miles to CR 480 
  • Turn right onto CR480 (Kassel’s Corner gas station is on the corner)
  • Travel east approximately 1 mile to GENTZ RD and GLIAC Championships signage
  • Turn left onto Gentz Rd and follow driveway to parking

From South:

  • Traveling north towards Marquette on US41 you will travel approximately 7 miles past Skandia
  • Turn left onto CR 480(Kassel’s Corner gas station is on the corner)
  • Travel east approximately 1 mile to GENTZ RD and GLIAC Championships signage
  • Turn left onto Gentz Rd and follow driveway to parking

From West:

  • Traveling east towards Marquette follow US41 through Marquette to the round a bout
  • Continue south on US41 approximately 6 miles along Lake Superior and past the M28 intersection
  • After the M28 intersection travel south approximately 2 miles to CR 480
  • Turn right onto CR480 (Kassel’s Corner gas station is on the corner)
  • Travel east approximately 1 mile to GENTZ RD and GLIAC Championships signage
  • Turn left onto Gentz Rd and follow driveway to parking

Directions to Northern Michigan University for showers from Gentz Homestead Golf Course:

  • Turn right onto CR 480 from golf course
  • Travel approximately 1 mile to US41
  • Turn left onto US41 towards Marquette
  • Travel approximately 6 miles to the round a bout
  • Continue towards downtown Marquette; Road turns into Front Street
  • Travel approximately 1 mile on Front Street until it ends
  • Turn left onto Fair Ave.
  • Travel ¼ mile to entrance to the Parking lot at the PEIF on the right
  • Park near PEIF Building go down the hallway and take a right past racquetball courts and pool window
  • Locker rooms will be on your right
